What's new in Lawn Logic

Look around before you sign up, and a version number you can actually quote when something goes wrong.

New

• Try it without an account. Tap "Continue as guest" and go straight to setting up a lawn. Add an account later and everything you've built comes with you — zones, settings, watering history.
• The version number now sits at the bottom of Settings. Tap it to copy it. Bug reports are far easier to act on when we know which build you're on.
• Redeem a Code. Got a promo code for Pro? Settings → Redeem a Code, instead of hunting through the App Store.

Improved

• The subscription screen no longer tells Android users to go buy it in the iPhone app.
• Updated to Google's current billing library ahead of their deadline.

The release that actually fixed evening reminders on iPhone.

Fixed

• Evening reminders on iPhone. The app was never finishing its handshake with Apple's notification service, so the daily heads-up had nowhere to be delivered. Reminders had never worked on iOS.

New

• Settings → Notification Preferences can now diagnose a device that can't receive reminders, and gives you a "Copy details" button to paste into a support message.

A rebuilt setup, and the app stops asking you questions before you've earned the right to answer them.

New

• One question per screen. Setup is plain language now, and every question explains why the answer matters. Grass type, soil, and shade are tappable cards instead of dropdowns.
• Two lawns, two answers. Setup offers to add a second zone at the end. A front and back yard dry out differently, and each zone gets its own daily call.

Improved

• Sprinkler timing is asked later. We used to ask how many minutes your sprinklers need to put down an inch of water before you'd ever opened the app — nobody knows that without going outside with a tuna can. Lawn Logic now asks once you've logged a session, and walks you through measuring it.

A redesigned home screen, and a smarter model underneath it.

New

• The soil moisture arc. The daily answer leads with one number, one word, and a plain sentence saying why. Today's heat warning and the best time to run your sprinklers moved into that same card.
• My Lawn / Details. My Lawn answers one question — water today or not. Details holds the 14-day moisture trend, the full forecast, and every number behind the recommendation.
• Dormancy detection. When sustained cold puts your grass to sleep, Lawn Logic recognises it and stops calling for water. Dormant grass can't use it, and watering anyway invites disease. The home screen shifts to winter straw so you can see the app knows.

Fixed

• Southern Hemisphere seasons were running six months out of phase — a lawn in Australia in January was being treated as mid-winter.
• "Losing per day" now reads the same number everywhere in the app. Two screens were computing it differently.

Improved

• A visual refresh throughout — proper typography, lighter surfaces, and a consistent icon set.
• "Use my current location" during setup, instead of typing an address.

New

• A welcome walkthrough before the sign-in screen, so you can see what the app does before handing over an email address.
• Multiple zones, and bulk logging for people watering several areas.

Improved

• Friendlier, more specific errors when a purchase can't complete.

New

• Water savings tracking — how much you didn't water because the sky handled it.
• Watering restrictions. Tell Lawn Logic which days your town allows watering and it plans around them.
• Home screen widget with today's answer.
• Evening reminders, sent from the server so they arrive whether or not the app is open.

Improved

• Observed rainfall now comes from an archive API rather than the forecast, so yesterday's rain is what actually fell.
• One unified recommendation engine — the home screen and the forecast used to disagree.
